"Halo Wars" is a strategy game set in the same game universe as the "Halo" series of first-person shooters. Each mission in the game has objectives that must be completed in order for you to win. You are also awarded a score and medal at the end of each mission. The points requirement for obtaining a gold medal at the end of a mission is much higher than the other medal types. The most effective way to get enough points for a gold medal is to activate skulls. Several skulls give you a score multiplier in exchange for making the game more difficult. Difficulty level also affects the final score for each mission.
Instructions
1. Start a campaign or skirmish level in "Halo Wars." The highest score is given if the "Legendary" difficulty level is selected. However, a high final point total can be obtained on lower difficulty levels with the skull score multipliers.
2. Press the "Start" button on the controller to open the pause menu.
3. Click "Skulls" in the pause menu.
4. Activate the "Fog" skull. This skull will remove the mini-map from the display, but will increase the score modifier for the mission.
5. Activate the "Rebel Sympathizer" skull. This skull increases the hit points of enemy units and increases the score modifier.
6. Activate the "Rebel Leader" skull. This skull increases the level of enemy units, making each unit slightly stronger than normal. The score modifier increase for this skull is enough to make this a useful skull for obtaining a gold medal on a mission.
7. Deactivate the "Catch," "Sugar Cookie," "Boomstick," "Pain Train," "Bountiful Harvest," and "Emperor" skulls, if any are activated. These skulls decrease the score modifier for the mission score, which makes it harder to obtain enough points to earn a gold medal.
8. Complete the mission objectives as directed by the game. The score modifier bonuses are awarded once the mission is successfully completed.
