Florida residents can apply for food stamps from any computer with Internet access. The online method should make the process go faster than if the applicant did it all in person. An online application begins processing immediately, and should be done in seven to 30 days. However, applicants may still need to mail in some documents or attend appointments with a case manager.
Instructions
1. Access the Florida online food stamps application. As of 2012, food stamp applications were handled through the Florida Department of Children & Families ACCESS Florida Online Application System at myflorida.com/accessflorida.
2. Scroll down to the "Apply for Benefits" icon. The application also covers inquiries for food stamps and cash assistance.
3. Click the button to "apply for benefits" and create a new application. Select the family members you are applying for and "food assistance."
4. Answer as many questions as you can on the application. You must provide your name, address and signature to apply. Confirm your address and select "apply."
5. Create an ACCESS Florida sign-in so you can return to your application at a later date.
6. Print the case summary at the end of the application process for your records.
