Fundraising Party Ideas

When it comes to raising money for a charity, school or sports teams, fundraising can often be a headache. While raising money for your organization of choice can prove to be an intimidating task, it is possible to do so and have a lot of fun in the process. Of all of the fundraising options available, fundraising parties are at the top of the list when it comes to not only making some money but also having a good time. Does this Spark an idea?

Block Party

If you live in the type of neighborhood where you have plenty of people around, consider holding a block party to raise money for your organization. Talk to your city about obtaining a permit, as some block parties require permits for full legal authorization. Charge a small admission to enter the party and sell food, drinks and raffle tickets. Plenty of music, great food and people can turn any fundraising block party into a success.

Wine Tasting

Wine tasting parties are a great way to raise money for your organization. While such a party is usually on a much more intimate level than a neighborhood block party, wine tasting parties can be a lot of fun. Depending on the number of people who attend, a wine tasting party can be held in your home, an apartment clubhouse or even a small hall.

Petition local businesses for wine donations. You might be surprised how many people are willing to donate to a worthy cause, especially if it means they can write off the donation on their taxes. Supply the wine and wine glasses, plenty of cheese and crackers, and music and you have the makings of a successful wine tasting.

There are multiple ways that a wine tasting party can make money. For example, hold a raffle or silent auction and give away items donated by friends, family or local businesses. Selling wine for part of the proceeds can also raise some money for your organization. Many people would even be willing to pay a few dollars admission to enter a wine tasting.

Chocolate Banquet.

Sometimes people need an excuse to indulge themselves and break the bank to support a charity, and what better way to accomplish both than with a chocolate banquet? A chocolate banquet is just what it sounds like---a dinner or party where everything is chocolate. The trick is to have plenty of chocolate goodies on hand and to make them look and taste as gourmet as possible.

Chocolate banquets are best as gala events. Charge a reasonable fee for admission tickets. Encourage attendees to dress up and play formal music. A more formal atmosphere encourages more affluent attendees, who are better able to support your cause.
