Be In A Firefighter Combat Challenge

Competitors wear fire gear in the Firefighter Combat Challenge.

Firefighter Combat Challenges (FCCs) are exciting spectacles that challenge the strength and endurance of the participants while entertaining thousands of spectators. Consisting of five events spanning the course of one to three days, FCCs occur year round at several local competitions and a world championship. Registering to participate in a local Firefighter Combat Challenge is a simple task, and if you are a firefighter, it can give you a shot at moving on to the World Championship held in November.

Instructions

1. Speak to other firefighters you know about forming a team for a local contest. Paramedics, cadet drivers and other people who work at a fire department can also register to participate in a Firefighter Combat Challenge. Make sure you talk to everyone you know who you think would be a good candidate to participate in a challenge.

2. Enter team information at the Firefighter Combat Challenge website. Decide who will be on the team, give the team a name and provide contact information to the Challenge organization so they can contact you. Create a password so you can log into your account and see the status of your application.

3. Enter the information for each of your team members on the Challenge website. Required information includes the member's name, date of birth, years of service and job.

4. Speak with all team members and make sure that they are able to clear time off work to participate in the event. Registering to participate at an event costs money, and it would be unwise to spend money to register a team if one member was not sure they could get the time off to make an appearance.

5. Register your team for events. Decide which events you wish to participate in and whether you want to participate individually or as a team, and submit this information in the registration form on the Firefighter Combat Challenge website.

6. Set up a paypal account so you can pay the registration fee. You can also pay by check or money order, but if you want to pay by credit or debit card you need to use paypal. Also, note that in order to use paypal to send and receive money you need to have a valid and working e-mail address.
