Apply Eye Makeup For Women Over 50

After the age of fifty, a woman needs to make changes in the way she applies eye makeup. Heavy eyeliner that once contributed to an attractive look won’t work for the fifty-plus woman any longer. Too much eye makeup and bright or shinny eye shadows tend to make women of this age group look older. At this age, light and subtle eye shadow colors work best to open up the eyes. Darker colors will only give eyes a sunk-in look. Eye makeup application for the woman over fifty is a task that requires a little skill. The following steps will help the woman over fifty apply her eye makeup in a way that is best for her. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Apply Eye Makeup for Women Over 50.

1. Women over 50 usually have sparse eyebrows. If this is the case, fill in the eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil that is a shade darker than the color of the eyebrows. Eyebrows give a youthful appearance to the face, so you want them to stand out a little.

2. Dab concealer onto area of eyes where dark circles appear and blend. Darkness under the eyes does not give a youthful or attractive appearance.

3. Using a cotton swab, apply taupe or champagne colored eye shadow to eyelids, up to eyelid crease.

4. Apply white eye shadow to area of eye under eyebrow and in inner corner of eyes to open eyes up.

5. Holding the outer corner of the eyelid taut, apply a thin line of liquid eyeliner to upper lash line, tapering line off at outer corner of each eye.

6. Brush mascara onto upper lashes, then give them a second coat of mascara.
