There are several things a person can do to burn more calories while running. The most effective option is increasing the pace as you will cover more ground. However, pushing too hard can lead to injury. Other options include the addition of light weights fastened to the ankles or arms while running, running either uphill or downhill, and simply running over a longer period of time.
