The Schwinn 460 is a variable-stride elliptical trainer. It enables low-impact walking, stepping and running for strength and cardio conditioning. Integrated handles pump and tone arms and shoulders. Users can target certain muscle groups or go for a full-body workout. The onboard conditioning computer comes pre-programmed with 16 workouts and tracks and display results for two users on the backlit touch-screen console.
Instructions
Attach the Rear Stabilizer
1. Instruct an assistant to lift the rear portion of the main assembly.
2. Position the rear stabilizer under the main assembly, handle facing out, bolt holes up.
3. Line up the bolt holes in the main assembly and the rear stabilizer.
4. Attach the rear stabilizer with two M80 X 20 bolts, spring lock washers and flat washers. Tighten the bolts.
Attach the Front Assembly
5. Instruct an assistant to lift the front portion of the main assembly.
6. Slide the front stabilizer under the main assembly bracket with the wheels facing out. Align the bolt holes.
7. Thread two M80 X 20 bolts with spring lock washers and flat washers through the bolt holes and attach the front assembly to the front stabilizer. Tighten the hardware.
Attach the Console Mast
8. Instruct an assistant to hold the mast upright.
9. Connect the main console wire to the main assembly at the plug-in connector.
Line up the bolt holes between the mast and the main assembly.
10. Secure the mast to the main assembly with four M80 X 20 bolts with spring lock washers and flat washers. Tighten the hardware.
Install the Mast Boot and Arm Pivot Rod
11. Open the mast boot at the slit and slide the mast boot from front to back around the mast.
12. Seat the mast boot into the plastic shroud and push the mast clip into the holes in the front of the mast boot.
13. Insert the arm pivot rod into the hole in the pivot mount on the console mast.
Attach the Swing Arms and Handlebars
14. Slide one wave washer on the right side of the arm pivot rod. Install the right swing arm on the arm pivot rod and secure it with one M8 washer and spring lock washer and one M8 X 20 hex-head bolt.
15. Insert the handlebar end segment into the top of the swing arm. Align the bolt holes and secure them with four M80 X 20 bolts with spring lock washers and flat washers.
16. Tighten the hardware. Repeat the procedure on the left side with the left swing arm.
Attach the Cam Assembly
17.Move the roller on the right cam assembly to its lowest position by rotating the crank arm.
18. Place the right cam assembly on the right crank arm roller. Make sure the track on the bottom of the cam assembly fits on top of the crank arm roller.
19. Repeat the procedure on the left side.
Attach the Square Pedal Arms
20. Insert the front of the right square pedal arm into the right swing arm bracket. Line up the square pedal arm with the top holes of the swing arm. Secure the pedal arm to the swing arm with one M10 X 85 bolt, two flat washers, one spring lock washer and one M10 hex locknut.
Hand-tighten hardware only. Repeat the procedure on the left side.
21. Line up the square pedal arm with the top holes of the swing arm. Secure the pedal arm to the swing arm with one M10 X 85 bolt, two flat washers, one spring lock washer and one M10 hex locknut.
22. Hand-tighten hardware only. Repeat the procedure on the left side.
Attach the Round Pedal Arms, Console and Water Bottle
23. Instruct your assistant to rotate the right cam assembly until the holes of the right round pedal arm and the lower holes of the swing arm bracket are lined up.
24. Attach the round pedal arm to the lower holes in the swing arm bracket using one M10 X 85 bolt, two flat washers, one spring lock washer and one M10 hex locknut.
25. Repeat procedure on the left side. Tighten all hardware on the square pedal arms and the round pedal arms.

Instruct an assistant to hold the console up to the mast. Connect the main console wire to the console wire at the plug-in wire connector. Secure the console to the mast with four M5 X 15 Phillips-head screws. Secure water bottle brackets to the console mast with four M5 X 15 Phillips-head screws. The water bottle brackets are marked for left and right. Insert the water bottle holder into the bracket mounts.
