Apply Ribbon To Scrapbook Pages

Use decorative ribbon to add personality to your scrapbook.

Incorporating decorative ribbon into your scrapbook layouts is one of the easiest ways to add color, texture and dimension to your pages. Scrapbook supply stores sell a variety of ribbon targeted toward scrapbook enthusiasts that can add the perfect finishing touch to a scrapbook page chronicling any occasion. Adding ribbon to the pages of your scrapbook is extremely easy to do and will give your pages a fun, organized look.

Instructions

Adding Ribbon to Edges

1. Measure and cut a strip of ribbon that is equal in length to the edge of your scrapbook page. Cut any stray ends, and line the ribbon up on top of the paper so that the outside edge of the ribbon match up with the edge of the paper.

2. Run the glue stick across one side of the ribbon. Flip the ribbon over and glue it onto the page.

3. Run your fingers over the ribbon to smooth out any creases or wrinkles. Press down firmly to ensure that the ribbon is firmly secured to the paper. If the edges are peeling away from the paper, run the glue stick underneath the ribbon and press the ribbon down with your fingers.

Adding Ribbon Over Photographs

4. Measure and cut a strip of ribbon that is equal in length to the weight of the photograph. Cut any stray ends, and line the ribbon up on top of the photograph at least 1 inch above the bottom of the picture. You may choose to place the ribbon anywhere, including across the middle. Experiment with positioning until you find the spot that pleases you.

5. Run the glue stick across one side of the ribbon and adhere the ribbon onto the photograph in the spot you chose.

6. Run your fingers across the ribbon to smooth out any creases. If the ends are peeling up from the photograph, apply a small amount of glue underneath the ribbon and press the ribbon down firmly.
