Setting the date on a Breitling is similar to other mechanical watches.
Originating in the late 19th century, Breitling watches are recognized by watch enthusiasts for their build and finish quality. Many Breitling models are equipped with a date feature, settable via the screw-down crown also used to set the time. Instructions
1. Unscrew the winding crown on the right-hand side of the case, rotating it downward. Continue until the crown spins freely. Pull out the crown to the first position.
2. Rotate the crown upward until the date previous to the target date is shown in the indicator window.
3. Pull the crown out to the second position. Rotate upward until the number in the indicator window flips over to the currents day's date. Continue rotating the crown until the correct time is shown.
4. Push the crown in, ensuring you feel two clicks. Push in on the crown while rotating upward to tighten it back to the case.
5. Place the watch on your wrist. Move your wrist around a few times to begin winding the watch. All automatic Breitlings wind through normal wrist motion. Battery-operated units do not require winding.
