Splitting a cable TV signal will allow you to have cable TV on multiple televisions.
Your cable company may only supply a single cable coming into your home. If you have multiple televisions, you can split the cable so you can have cable TV on two or more televisions. Unfortunately, splitting a cable will also split the signal, resulting in a reduction of signal quality. A splitter that comes with a transformer will help minimize this signal reduction and make it less detectable.
Instructions
1. Unplug the coaxial connection from the back of your TV. If you have multiple connections, such as "in" and "out," unplug the "in" line. The plug may pull straight out, or you may have to unscrew it in a counterclockwise direction.
2. Attach the coaxial cable you just detached to the coaxial connector on the splitter labeled "in." On simple splitters, you might find there's a single connector on one side of the splitter and two or more connectors on the other side. On those splitters, the single connector is the "in" one.
3. Attach the spare coaxial cables to the "out" connectors of the splitter. Depending on the splitter, you could have anywhere from two to eight "out" connectors.
4. Attach the other ends of the spare coaxial connectors to the "in" connectors on the backs of your televisions. You now should have cable TV on multiple televisions.
