Okotoks (pronounced OH-ko-tokes) is in Alberta's Sheep River Valley. It is 27 miles south of Calgary via Route 2. The town offers gift shops and restaurants along its Main Street, a Heritage House full of local history and a few local hotels for those who want to stay in the area. Popular activities include fly-fishing in the Sheep River and golfing at one of the three local courses.

Less than a mile south of Okotoks in nearby Strathmore, Alberta, this family-owned property, once an Econo-Lodge, offers 55 rooms, most with kitchenettes. The property is west of the main Route 2A. The parking lot is quite large and able to accommodate large trucks, buses and RVs. Engine plug-ins are available (to keep engine fluids from freezing in the winter).
