Guinness World Record Games

Guinness World Record Games is the video game collection released by the Guinness World Records.

The Guinness Book of World Records is an annually published reference book featuring a collection of record-breaking human achievements and natural world extremes. To date, it is the bestselling book of all time. In 2008, Guinness World Records released a video game comprised of 36 mini games based on record attempts. The games are available in different formats suitable for Wii, Nintendo DS, iTouch and iPhone.

Features

Everyone has a chance to break a record by playing the Guinness World Record games, which are based on the real record attempts. An avatar is available for you to personalize as you set a record all over the world by completing required stunts such as fastest time to eat a plane. You can also compete with other online challengers to collect trophies, campaign certificates and fact cards to become the virtual Guinness World Record holder.

Practice Mode

There are several ways to play each game, but there is a specific strategy combination that will give you optimum results. The Guinness World Record games allow you to spend time practicing and trying different techniques until you achieve the highest score. If your score is way too low compared to the other challengers, it means that there is a strategy combination that you haven't tried. For Wii players, you can ask someone to help you hold the Wii remote while you are using the Nunchuk to control the game.

Money Management

One of the Guinness elements is money management, which allows you to earn and spend coins. Coins are earned whenever you complete a mini game attempt, depending on how well you performed. If you break a record, you will receive the maximum number of coins available in every game. Coins can be used to unlock expensive items. It will help if you plan well and build a strategy before spending.

General Game Hints

Each game has power ups, which you should learn, as it can make a big difference to your final score. You should also be familiar with the game controller you are using. Most mini games are dependent on the control system. Proper timing and good rhythm is also a key ingredient in many games. One of the games included is the Fastest Rocket that will give you as much as 5000 coins in just 2 stages. During the first stage, you should wait for the power bar to go as high as possible before launching the rocket. Then hit the colored buttons as fast as you can during the 2nd stage. Another one is the Highest BMX Jump. Just like in most games, timing is the key to get a good score in this game. You need to work out on the proper timing to get the extra lift on your BMX jump. If your tricks are not properly working, try to stop pedaling as soon as you begin to jump up the ramp. You will then have a good chance to separate the lift motion.
