Group Power Instructor Training

Trainees should consider homework an integral part of the training process -- homework is assigned every night of instructor training.

Fitness instructors with a combined love of strength training and group exercise may consider certification in the Body Training Systems Group Power program. Group Power is a 60-minute group strength training class featuring a barbell workout to motivating music.

Prerequisites

Videos of instructor trainees providing group instruction to a live class are the final step of the certification process and assessed within four weeks of receipt.

Find a local, licensed Body Training Systems (BTS) fitness facility. Contact the group fitness director or studio owner to state your desire to become a Group Power instructor. Directors must approve individuals prior to training admittance. Upon approval, potential trainees register through the BTS website.

Training

A change of clothes, fitness shoes, two towels, snacks and water should be taken to the training.

Before training, download the instructor agreement and schedule B from the BTS website. Review the information and sign the forms. Take the forms to the training. Prepare to be punctual for all scheduled trainings, and for strenuous activity. Participants are required to participate in all activities, days and hours.

Post training

Body Training Systems recommends taking a CD Walkman to training, to practice with the CD of music to teach class.

After the course, trainees have a 90-day period to submit video of a live class, showing trainees as the instructor. Trainees become eligible to receive certificates of completion after completing this step.
