Ghost Tours In San Diego

There are many spooky places in San Diego to visit on ghost tours.


San Diego is full of history and ghost stories. There are many ghost tours to be found throughout San Diego. Some of them might seem a bit cheesy and overpriced, but overall, visitors will hear some great stories and visit some pretty neat historical sites. Ghost tours throughout San Diego can be a way to ghost hunt and view some history.


Ghost Tours


According to its website, tours are based on real-life experiences and happenings throughout San Diego. Tours are given by 10-year ghost hunter Michael. Walking ghost tours start at 9:00 p.m. and run Thursday through Saturday. There is a second tour those nights at 11:00 p.m. and tours take about 90 minutes. Tours run through California State Park, haunted places and buildings around San Diego and video documentation. Tour guides also use a meter to show ghostly activity throughout the tour. Adults cost $19 and children between the ages of six and 12 years old are $10. Children five and under are free (prices current in February, 2010). Private ghost hunting tours are available upon request.

Haunted San Diego Tours


The website suggests visitors arrive at least an hour early, because parking is limited. Visitors who are not at least 15 minutes early may lose their spot and their tickets may be sold to other people who did not have a reservation. It is recommended that guests are in good physical condition, because there is walking, standing and climbing in darkness while on the tour. Haunted San Diego is considered to be a walking story-telling tour. Children under 10 years old are not recommended to attend the tour and children under five years old should not be on the tour at all. The tour offers a smoke-free environment. Reservation office hours are Thursday through Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The tour is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Tours run between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. Tours are $35 for children and adults with a senior discount of $3 off (current in February, 2010). The tour is two hours long and is a combination of walking and riding.

Ghostly Tours in History


Ghostly Tours in History is a three-hour ghostly limo tour through many San Diego haunted locations. The tour travels to five or six locations and boards in Old Town. Tour guests board a tall ship and visit one of the oldest buildings in the Gaslamp Quarter. One or two graveyards are visited and so is an old Victorian mansion that still serves as a hotel. Tours begin Thursday through Saturday at 6:30 p.m. and Gaslamp walking tours begin at 7:30 p.m. The walking tour starts at $10 per person and the limo tour ranges from $44 to $49 per person (current in February, 2010).
