Gay Bars Near Huntington Park California

A number of gay bars are near Huntington Park, California


Huntington Park is surrounded by major California cities that have a number of gay bars and clubs. With all different types of music and events, there is something for everyone. If not all, most of them feature drink specials and special admission charges before a certain time, so even if you don't want to spend much, you can still go out and have a good time.


Rage Restaurant & Bar


The Rage Restaurant & Bar is located a half hour away from Huntington Park in West Hollywood and has been in business for over 28 years. It has a restaurant which serves lunch and dinner as well as coffee and drinks from noon to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday. The space has two levels with dance floors and is said to have the best lighting and sound in West Hollywood. There is a different theme every night such as house music on Mondays, Latin music on Wednesdays and Kinky Saturdays with DJ Salvador. The Dreamgirls Revue, a female impersonation show, is featured on Tuesdays, and College Video Dance Club Night is on Thursdays for guys 18 years old and up. The bar serves half-price drinks everyday from noon to 9 p.m. and is open Monday through Sunday from noon to 2 a.m. The club offers street and valet parking as well as a parking lot for its customers. Accepted attire is casual, and all major credit cards are accepted.


The Palms Bar


Also located in West Hollywood, the Palms Bar on Santa Monica Blvd. has been open for nearly 40 years. It has a full bar that is laid back and inviting to all people. Some celebrities, including Ellen DeGeneres and Melissa Etheridge, have made appearances. The bar hold a variety of events during the week, and bar features comedy from 6 to 9 p.m. and karaoke from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Sundays. It's open from Monday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. The bar also is available for private parties and special events. For birthdays the staff will supply the music, cake and the decorations for 25 to 200 guests.


MJs Bar


Located just 20 minutes away from Huntington Park in Los Angeles, MJs Bar offers happy hour seven days a week until 10 p.m. featuring $4 drinks. Showtune Wednesdays feature a live cabaret show. For Middle Eastern men, Club Nur is on Thursdays with free admission before 10:30 p.m. As of January 2011, the bar hosts Fresh Meat Fridays with your first drink only $1 with admission. MJs has an outdoor covered patio and free use of the Trader Joe's parking lot after 10 p.m. It's open Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m.


Jewels Catch One


Opening in 1972, Jewels Catch One is located in Los Angeles just 19 minutes from Huntington Park. It is the nation's first black gay and lesbian disco club. Madonna once held a CD release party here. Every Friday is Das Bunker with industrial and electronic music from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. with a $10 cover charge before 10:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays are hip-hop, R&B and Old School night with different events on each floor. Wednesdays and Thursdays the club is closed but is available for private parties or events. The Jewels Catch One also runs a nonprofit clinic, Village Heath Foundation, located next door to the club. Ages 18 and up are allowed entry, and parking is provided.
