Fun Fundraising Ideas For Kids

Kids love responsibility and feeling like they are making a difference on their own. Fundraising can be a great way to open their eyes to philanthropy while allowing them to exert their independence. The important thing is that kids have fun while raising funds and realize that they are helping others at the same time.

Car Wash

A car wash is a simple and fun way for kids to raise funds. While somewhat limited to certain times of year (late spring through early fall in cooler climates), a car wash lets children raise money for their cause through hard work and some good clean fun. A car wash can be put together last minute or planned ahead of time with posters made and hung around town and throughout the neighborhood where it will take place. Children will need to purchase cleaning supplies but overall a car wash is an inexpensive way for kids to raise money for whatever cause they like.

Fun Run

A fun run is a another great way for children to raise money for their school or the organization of their choice. A track can be used for the run with sponsorship on a per-lap basis. This gives incentive to the kids to run, knowing the more laps they do the more money they raise for their cause. Using a track enables all age levels to participate as children can run as little or as much as they are capable of.

Yard Sale

A yard sale can be a great way for children to raise money for their organization and clean out their closets at the same time. Kids can go through their rooms and gather toys, clothes and gear that they no longer use or wear and sell them. If the event is planned ahead other neighborhood children can participate in donating items. Advertise the sale by hanging posters in nearby stores, the library, schools and other meeting places. A yard sale gives children a sense of sacrifice and enables them to generate funds for a worthy cause.
