Hospital Fundraiser Ideas

For more than 200 years, Americans have contributed to organizations and people in need. People bestow more than $250 billion a year to assist others in attaining an improved quality of life, according to the National Philanthropic Trust. Hospitals across the country conduct fundraising events dedicated to diverse cures and causes. Hospital fundraising ideas may include races, contests and dinners.

Cookbook Fundraiser

Create a hospital cookbook to raise funds for a cause. The hospital cookbook recipes may cater to having a healthier lifestyle, lowering the body's fat intake, dealing with diabetes or preparing holiday meals. Find a printer who will donate some of his services for a mention in the book. Determine a cookbook price, and then sell the cookbook to bring awareness to the hospital's cause. Promote the cookbook fundraiser within the community, retail stores, grocery stores, social networking sites and local businesses.

Bake Sale Fundraiser

Sponsor a baking contest, highlighting the best special recipe. Choose a location to hold the baking contest, such as an auditorium, theater, conference room or lounge. Produce the entry form and decide the participant fee. Create baking categories (most tasty, best decorated, most imaginative and healthiest). Select a local judge from a business, culinary school or board member. Also, compile participants' recipes to create a cookbook, which you can then sell.

Bed Race Fundraiser

Employees create teams of four to six people. Charge participants a fee of $5 to $10 each person. Creatively decorate a bed and place on wheels. The team that pushes its bed on wheels across the finish line first wins. In addition, have a contest for the best-decorated bed. Employees gather pledges for completing the race. Also, charge a small fee for tickets for the public to view the race.

Miracle Meals Fundraiser

Have local restaurants contribute food for a potluck fundraiser. In addition, ask local restaurants to create a specially priced meal for a separate Miracle Meal menu. When a patron purchases an item from the Miracle Meal menu, the organization receives a donation.
