You'll get down a mountain in under a minute. This eHow article will get you moving in the right direction on become a pro sledder.

Instructions

1. Build your strength and endurance by competing in sports such as track and field, soccer or weightlifting. Bobsledders are powerful athletes with incredibly strong legs. Train your legs with squat thrusts and hamstring curls.

2. Meet the qualifications for pushers and drivers by going to the American Olympic Bobsled Team website. Start times for men and women are posted there.

3. Train to meet the vertical jump specifications as posted on the same Olympic Bobsled Team website. Plyometrics, a type of training that uses the body's weight, is an excellent method of training for jumping.

4. Go to the USBSF-run recruiting camps in Lake Placid, NY at the U.S. Olympic Training Center. Find details about the camp at their website, listed in the Resources section below.

5. Learn the start and descent techniques during the camp. If you succeed and pass the evaluation, you can be recruited for the team.

6. Find a bobsled team to join. There are amateur bobsledding teams located around the country in certain areas, such as the Rocky Mountains. Really find out if you like the sport. If you find that you are an excellent bobsledder, try to get recruited by a professional level organization.
