Pikes Falls is a town in Windham County, Vermont, which had a little over 44,000 people at the time of the 2000 U.S. Census. It is located near Stratton Mountain, a 2,400-foot landform in Green Mountain National Forest. Several hotels can be found in the surrounding towns, none of which are farther than a short drive away from Pikes Falls.
Alpenrose Inn
Alpenrose Inn is located in Bondville, a town that is a 10-minute drive away from Pikes Falls. The hotel, in addition to providing rooms for travelers, also fashions itself as a skiing resort, with ski areas at Stratton, Bromley and Okemo ski areas 30 minutes away. In fact, Alpenrose offers skis, boots and boards for rental. Lodgers can also shop at the factory outlet stores of the nearby town of Manchester or fish at the Battenkill River.
Stone's Lodge Under Mt. Stratton
Opening in 2010, Bondville's Stone's Lodge is named after its location under the Stratton Mountain. Customers have choices between queen or king-sized beds, or two single beds. Other features include wireless Internet, gift shop and the built-in tavern and restaurant named Fat Spy and Morgan Bane's Steakhouse, respectively. Like Alpenrose, it serves as a skiing resort as well, and pets are allowed on the premises for an additional $20 cleaning fee, as of January 2011.
Three Peaks Inn
Three Peaks Inn is located in Bondville -- specifically at the base of Stratton Mountain's Access Road. The hotel's services and amenities include wireless Internet, a billiards game room and wheelchair-accessible facilities. Three Peaks also has a built-in pub and restaurant, where customers can enjoy American and Italian cuisine, the karaoke bar and live music performances on Saturday nights.
Windham Hill Inn
Windham Hill Inn is located in West Townshend, one of the unincorporated communities of the town of Townshend about a 30-minute drive away from Pikes Falls. Customers can choose a room with a fireplace, or a suite located at the hotel's loft. Windham's services and amenities include a spa, event catering, concierge, tennis courts and a swimming pool. Nearby attractions include Hildene -- the home of President Abraham Lincoln's descendants, the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park and the American Museum of Fly Fishing.
