Audition For "The Biggest Loser"

Those needing to lose weight and inches could earn a $250,000 payoff for being "The Biggest Loser."

"The Biggest Loser" is a television show that takes a group of overweight people and helps them reach their goal of losing weight. It includes serious workouts and dieting and takes the contestant out of his normal environment for a period of time. The prize for losing the most weight and winning the overall competition is $250,000. Here are some details about trying to land an audition.

Instructions

1. The show is looking for couples, or two people who want to lose weight together. The show specifies retirees, twins, engaged couples, co-workers, whatever; the crazier the pairing the better. Organizers are also looking for family members, such as a child and parent or cousins, sisters, brothers, etc.

2. You need to be bigger than life, so show off. Stand out from the crowd

3. The show holds open casting calls to prepare for the next season. You will have to check the show's website to find out when the next casting calls will be. They only guarantee that 500 people will be seen, and they say not to line up until three hours before audition time.

4. If you cannot attend the casting call, download the application and fill it out completely before submitting. Make sure it contains information that will make you stand out from the crowd.

5. Make a 10-minute VHS videotape that will show off your assets. The show only accepts VHS tapes or Mini DV. Make it memorable. Include everyone who is auditioning. They want you to start the videotape by naming yourselves and where you are from. They want to know how you and your partner are connected, or how you know each other.

6. The show's organizers also want you to show them why you need to lose weight. Some ideas would include running up a flight of stairs, leading to running out of breath. Dive into a pool, so the size of the splash will demonstrate embarrassment. You could also talk about being made fun of by co-workers or children, or expressing sadness or depression related to being overweight and how being overweight affects your family or relationships. A visit to your doctor could demonstrate health concerns.

7. Also include two to five photos that show you in all your glory. They want new, so be sure to get a little crazy. Just know, it might be seen on television. Take all of this to the casting call or submit it with your application if you don't go to a casting call.

8. Send audition tapes, application and photos to:

9. The show also says that if do not have a partner, you may submit a tape as an individual. Photos and tapes won't be returned to you.
