Whale and Dolphin Watching Adventure

You can watch gray whales migrate from the Arctic toward Baja from the Hornblower Adventure, the largest and fastest whale watching boat in Southern California. Operating from December through April, the tour is narrated by the captain and naturalists from the San Diego Natural History Museum. In addition to the gray whale you're likely to see four types of dolphins and up to six other types of whales, as well as other marine life and birds. If you don't spot a whale during your tour you will receive a voucher for a free tour. You also get to see other historic sites of the San Diego Bay including the Point Loma Light House and the Cabrillo National Monument. As of 2010, adult tickets are $32 on weekdays and $37 on weekends. Children's tickets are $16 on weekdays and $19 on weekends for ages 4 to 12. Kids under 3 years of age are free. Seniors and military save $5 on any day. Cruises depart twice daily at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. You may purchase tickets before boarding at the Hornblower box office or book in advance online or by phone.
