Fun Fundraisers That Raise A Lot Of Money

A fundraiser that involves a diverse group of people can be fun and lucrative.

Fundraising can be an effective way to raise money for your charitable organization or civic group. In 2010, Americans gave slightly less than $300 billion in charitable donation with approximately two-thirds of that money coming from private individuals, according to the National Park Service website. Fun fundraisers that raise a lot of money can help promote your cause while developing a positive relationship with your donors.

Monte Carlo Night

A Monte Carlo night can be fun for several reasons. One reason is that people get the chance to gamble for a good cause. Another reason Monte Carlo nights can be fun is it gives people a chance to dress up and act like they are high-rollers for the evening. Monte Carlo nights tend to raise a lot of money because of the gambling, but don't forget to serve concessions as well to make extra money.

Charity Run

A charity run is something that families and diverse groups of people can do together. When you have a fundraiser that can include entire families, you have developed something that people will remember as a fun family event. The more runners you have gathering donations, the more money your charity run can make. But what also helps to open up the fundraising potential of a charity run is the concessions and festival-type games you can have at the starting and ending point of the run.

Drive-in Movie

Family activities tend to create the most interactive, fun and lucrative kinds of fundraisers. A drive-in movie fundraising event is something that anyone can enjoy and can be turned into an all-day event that will generate substantial income. You can rent a portable, inflatable movie screen, or ask to have one donated to your event. A less-expensive alternative is to hang a bed sheet between two poles. Sound can be provided by a portable FM receiver that broadcasts to each car radio or any portable radios people bring. If you do not have a parking lot you can use as your temporary drive-in theater, then set up in a large field and encourage people to bring lawn chairs and portable radios. You can make money selling tickets to the event, having concessions all day and having games during the daytime leading up to the movie.

Miniature Golf

Miniature golf can be an all-day fundraising event that has several options. You can have a tournament and ask local vendors to contribute prizes for the winners, or you can just have open miniature golf. This kind of a fundraiser can be extremely profitable in areas where there are no miniature golf courses already. You can rent a portable miniature golf course or ask to have one donated. Sell concessions, hold raffles for prizes and have carnival games on site to help generate more money. Because miniature golf tends to take a while, you will have a captive audience much of the day to give donations.
