Be A Mobile Food Vendor

Hot dog carts and mobile catering units serve lunch on the go while they are on the go. They move from site to site, selling snacks and lunches and then hurry on to catch the next site for its break or lunch. Be a mobile food vendor and deliver this fast-paced food.

Instructions

1. Purchase a mobile food unit from Wysscateringtrucks.com. The unit comes complete with oven, shelves, ice bin, coffee urns and optional equipment you choose.

2. Apply for a mobile food vendor permit at your local city hall. Ask if there are any other licenses or permits you need. Also, visit your local Board of Health Department and advise them you are starting a mobile food business.

3. Find out where the local wholesale houses are in your area. You will purchase your food products for resale at the wholesale houses. The first time you visit, you will need to show them your vendor license, so take that with you.

4. Line up stops to service as a mobile food vendor. You need to get permission if you want to park your unit on private property, so go to each location you want to service and get permission from the manager or owner to bring your mobile food unit to their place of business.

5. Check local ordinances if you want to park on the street with your mobile food unit. Street vendors are permitted in some cities or some streets so be sure you are allowed to park or you may get a ticket.

6. Visit the locations that you lined up every day at the same time so people will get used to seeing you and buy food from you. Display your vendor license clearly on your mobile food unit in case any local authorities want to view it.
