Donate Plasma In Reno Nevada

Donating plasma benefits everyone.

Donating plasma in Reno, Nevada, allows you to earn extra money while contributing to an important cause. Plasma is used for the research and development of much-needed medicines that help to save millions of lives.

For as little as a couple hours a week, you can make hundreds of dollars a month. If you are in good health, between the ages of 18 and 65, and weigh more than 110 pounds, you are probably eligible to contribute and can schedule a preliminary screening.

Instructions

1. Schedule a preliminary health screen by calling the Biomat USA Reno Donor Center at 775-329-9421. They are located at:

270 East 6th St.

Reno, NV 89501

2. Prepare yourself for the meeting and first donation. On the day of your scheduled health screening you should be able to make your first donation, so it is important to prepare yourself physically and mentally.

Reno is known for its heat. Water plays a very important role in plasma donation. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and speed up your plasma contribution. Also, eat a well-balanced meal and get plenty of sleep.

3. Check in on time on the day of your screening and make sure you have the proper identification. You will need a valid picture identification, such as a Reno driver's license, student or military ID, and a Social Security card (or a Visa Border Crossing card).

4. Be prepared for a medical examination. Your vital signs will be checked (blood pressure, weight, pulse and body temperature), your blood will be tested for adequate protein and you will be asked a series of medical questions to make sure you haven't participated in any high-risk behavior.

5. Donate plasma. After you have passed the examination, you will be allowed to make your first donation, called plasmapheresis. You will be seated in a comfortable lounging chair where Reno medical staff will prepare you for the first extraction. A needle will remove blood from your body, then extract the plasma from it into a bottle, and finally return the red blood cells back in through the same needle. The process takes about an hour to an hour and a half. By drinking plenty of water prior to your appointment, you will find the process takes less time. When you are finished with the procedure, you will be asked to wait five minutes. You may feel slightly dizzy or tired. This will pass, and when you feel more normal, you can collect your first compensation.

6. Set up another donation appointment at Biomat in Reno, Nevada. Plasma will regenerate within 48 hours, and you will then be able to donate again. You will need to donate twice for Biomat to use your plasma.
