Apply Online for a Job at JCPenney


JCPenney, one of America's oldest retail companies, employs 150,000 associates at more than 1,100 stores across the United States. Job opportunities exist in retail, the company's salons, distribution or as a manager.


Instructions


1. Go to JCPenney.com and scroll to the bottom of the screen. Click on "Career Opportunities" and wait for the page to load.


2. Click the the "Apply Now or Update Profile" link once the "Career Opportunities" page has loaded.


3. Register for the site by clicking on the "click here to Register" link near the top of the page. Before searching for jobs, You will need to fill in your email address and an eight-character password, and choose a unique security question.


4. Narrow your search on the job search page, which will reload after you register. Type in a keyword such as "salon," "management" or "retail clerk." You can also refine your search by state. Be aware that the job you may be looking for may not be available in your area, but that's no reason not to submit your application.


5. Update your profile with your contact information. To do so, click on "My Profile" under the Career Tools box next to the search menu.


6. Add your cover letters, references and other materials to the website by clicking on "My Career Tools." Under the beige box, click the "Add an Attachment"; the next screen that loads will ask you what type of file you are attaching. Select the correct file from your computer and upload it to the site.


7. Begin your job search after adding all relevant information by entering a keyword and filtering the results by job, state or other category offered. Once you have found the perfect job, you can either upload a resume or copy and paste a resume to the website. To upload a resume, click on "Upload a Resume" and then "Browse." Find the correct file on your computer and click "Continue." If you choose to copy and paste your resume onto the site, an empty box is available into which you can paste or type your resume.


8. Fill in the box that pops up asking for your online resume. The screen will ask for further information, such as references, skills and educational levels. Fill in the information and check it several times before clicking on the "Submit Application" button at the bottom of the form. An on-screen confirmation will alert you of you application status.
