Break Your Fall


It is very important to know break your fall if you accidentally fall backwards. If you do not know perform this vital skill, you might risk the chance of breaking a wrist, arm or hurting your back or spinal cord. Learn fall properly to avoid any injuries and save yourself from any additional pain.


Instructions


1. Remember to tuck in your chin and keep your head up when you are falling. This move will protect the top of your head from being injured if you fall to the ground.


2. Breathe normally when you fall. If you stretch your lungs too much, then you will definitely feel the impact of the fall even more than if you were breathing at a normal pace.


3. Keep your forearms in front of you. If you slam them behind, then you most likely you will fracture or break your wrist or arm. Be careful when falling backwards.


4. Use your buttocks and side of your body to cushion your fall. It is a good idea to immediately bend your legs if you are falling backwards onto the road or floor.


5. Practice falling at home. Practice falling off of a chair or a couch and keep doing it a few times until you perfect the fall. This skill will come in handy if it ever happens to you.


6. Make sure you never let your head hit the ground. It is the most important part of your body to protect. If you hit your head severely, it can cause a concussion as well as a variety of other injuries.
