Hugh Taylor Birch State Park


This park is located at a short walk from beach side condominiums and shops of Fort Lauderdale. Visitors can rent canoes to paddle along the lagoon and fish from the seawall. Two short trails are available for hiking and picnic areas that overlook the channel are on hand for a family day out.

Miami Beach Botanical Garden


This botanical garden is located in the heart of South Beach and it features numerous types of plants, including bromeliads, orchids and subtropical palms. At the Miami Botanical Garden, you can attend gardening classes and cultural performances or take walking tours of the area. You should not miss the "autograph tree", where you can see autographs of numerous stars who have visited the gardens over the years. The Miami Beach Botanical Garden is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and admission is free.
